"Why?"

In his work entitled „Why?“, Enzo Leclercq documents parts of the long and dangerous journeys that people undertake in order to flee to Europe.

Taken between 2020 and 2023 in Bosnia, Serbia and France, the photos focus on the lives of those who are forced to leave their countries due to war, oppression and suffering and to set off in search of safety and prospects for a life in dignity.

In his exchanges with refugees, Enzo was constantly confronted with the questions, "why?", "why do they act that way?", "why do they do that to us?".

These photos bring attention to the difficulties faced day after day by the refugees and raise public awareness of the urgent need for a more compassionate and humane approach
to migration.
